🎯 Core Safety Rules for Helpers

1
Never Enter Any Residence

This is a non-negotiable safety requirement. Under no circumstances should you enter the home, garage, shed, or any enclosed structure belonging to the person you are helping.

  • Remain outside at all times during work activities
  • Decline all invitations to enter a residence, regardless of the reason
  • If you need water, rest, or restroom access, return to your own home or a public facility
  • If anyone insists you enter, leave immediately and report the incident
2
Verify Before You Go

Before accepting any bounty, verify the details and plan your route. Let someone know where you're going.

  • Only accept bounties from verified accounts when possible
  • Check the address on a map before heading out
  • Share your location with a trusted friend or family member
  • Set an expected return time with someone who can check on you
3
Trust Your Instincts

If something feels wrong, it probably is. You can always decline or leave a job without penalty.

  • Never feel obligated to complete a job that makes you uncomfortable
  • Leave immediately if the situation changes or feels unsafe
  • Report suspicious behavior through the app
  • Keep your phone charged and accessible at all times

βœ“ Additional Safety Requirements

Work in Daylight: Whenever possible, complete bounties during daylight hours
Buddy System: Consider working with a friend, especially for larger jobs
Payment Safety: Only accept payment through the app or cash in handβ€”never wire transfers or gift cards
Weather Awareness: Dress appropriately and take breaks in extreme weather conditions
Stay Hydrated: Bring water and take regular breaks, especially during physical work

  • Be specific about what work needs to be done

  • Do not ask helpers to run errands inside stores or facilities
  • Provide necessary items (water, tools) outside
3
Fair Payment

Pay fairly and promptly for completed work. This builds community trust.

  • Offer fair compensation for the work requested
  • Pay immediately upon completion through the app
  • Leave honest reviews to help the community

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§ Guidelines for Minors & Parents

1
Adult Supervision Required

All users under 18 must have parental consent and should be supervised when helping strangers.

  • Parents must approve and set up accounts for minors
  • A trusted adult should accompany minors when helping people they don't know
  • Helping known neighbors (with parent approval) may not require supervision
2
Information Sharing

Before any volunteer activity, minors must inform their parents:

  • Where: The exact address of the bounty
  • Who: The name of the bounty poster
  • When: Expected departure and return times
  • With Whom: Any friends or adults accompanying them
Recommendation: Parents should enable location sharing on their child's phone for continuous monitoring during bounty activities.
3
Earning Safely

Snow Bounty is a great way for young people to earn money and help their community. Parents should guide their children on safe practices.

  • Start with neighbors you know before helping strangers
  • Parents can review bounty details before their child accepts
  • Set limits on hours and number of bounties per week
  • Discuss what to do if uncomfortable situations arise
